Understanding Card Value & Demand

Some cards are worth a fortune, while others are priceless simply because they're your favourites!

Card value depends on what other players are willing to trade for it. Print number, edition, condition, wishlist demand, customization, and worker potential can all influence an offer.

✦

01 What Makes a Card Valuable?

Different collectors value different details. Lower prints and sought-after editions may be desirable, while condition, wishlist counts, cosmetics, and working stats can also affect interest.

Important

No single detail guarantees value. A high-print card with strong demand can be worth more than a low-print card few people want.

✦

02 Understanding Supply & Demand

Supply is how many copies are available; demand is how many players want them. High demand with limited supply may lead to higher offers, but a rare card isn't automatically valuable if there's little interest.

✦

03 Understanding Market Value

Karuta has a player-driven economy, so cards don't have fixed prices. Before trading, compare similar cards' recent listings and completed trades when available, and ask for a price check if you're unsure.

Remember that asking prices aren't necessarily selling prices. Values can change as new editions release, more cards circulate, and player demand shifts.
